BY ROAD

Drive from the Channel ports or take the ferry to Bilbao and drive up from Biarritz. Either way you can take your time to see some of the countryside.

BY RAIL
The best option is to take the Eurostar from Waterloo to Lille, and change on to the TGV to Toulouse; in total, this takes about 11 hours.

You can also take the Eurostar to Paris and change there, which involves crossing town, but that is fine, especially if you plan to stay overnight in Paris. Of course there is also the Car Train to Narbonne.

BY PLANE

Carcassonne - Salvaza, our nearest airport, is about a 30 minutes drive from “Beoulaygues”. It is served by Ryanair from Stansted. They also fly to Nîmes, Montpellier and Perpignan; these are all 1.5 hr to 2.5 hrs drive, and recommended only if you can't get other flights, or because occasionally they can be significantly cheaper.

Note that nowadays Easyjet and even BA can be even cheaper than Ryanair, provided you book early enough.

Toulouse - Blagnac airport is an hour's drive. It is served by British Airways from Gatwick, Air France from Heathrow, as well as British European (Flybe) from, Birmingham, Bristol and Southampton. The news is that Easyjet are now also flying from Gatwick to Toulouse.
